Last week, we hosted our portfolio leadership, CEO Council members, Investors, and other Friends Of The Firm for our Annual General Meeting. Each year, this event serves as an opportunity to provide updates across our investments, dig deeper into how we operate and help our portfolio companies grow and achieve success, and to remind everyone in the Council Capital ecosystem of our mission – to invest on the right side of change in healthcare.

This year, we had four panels featuring members of our portfolio companies and CEO Council highlighting each of the four pillars of Council’s sustainable value-creation strategies:

  • Market Viewpoints: Former acting administrator for CMS Leslie Norwalk and previous presidential advisor Larry Van Horn discussed how Council Capital’s access to leading viewpoints and thought capital helps to identify key evolving market trends
  • Differentiated Deal Strategies: CEO of Alivia Analytics Mike Taylor, Founder of Alivia Kleber Gallardo, Chairman of Aliva Bill Lucia, and Managing Partner Grant Jackson discussed how Council Capital’s multi-faceted deal strategies uniquely sets portfolio companies up for success right from deal close
  • Executive Talent: CEO of ICAN David Mikula along with Partner Tim Schulte and Chief Talent Officer Chris Nichols, discussed why being “people-first” is so important and how to source and cultivate a successful culture
  • Execution Support: CEO of OccMD/AMC Ken Hannigan, Chairman Chris Feeney, and Managing Partner Grant Jackson discussed how the Council Capital team empowers portfolio companies to grow through high-touch operations & execution support

We capped off the evening with an energizing social event that enabled relationship building, idea-sharing, and discussion about the future of private equity and healthcare. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to share insights from these panels and highlights from the day.
